My Surroundings / Locality
Besides having so much to do and see all within 10 miles of our home, we have daily train service to Richmond (state capitol) and Washington DC (3 hours). Virginia is a diverse and beautiful state with ocean, mountains, state parks, cities and rural areas.
My Hometown
Our proximity to historic Jamestown (original 1607 landing site) as well as reconstucted settlement, Colonial Williamsburg, with authentically costumed interpreters, Yorktown (battlefield and museum) make this area an attractive historical and educational destination. There are also many restaurants, an 86 shop outlet mall, the Williamsburg Winery, a major theme park (Busch Gardens) and a huge water park. The College of William & Mary, second university established in the U.S.(1693) is located in Williamsburg.
