We STRONGLY advise that when both parties reach the stage where all details have been discussed and resolved, all points should be summarized and documented in a Home Exchange Agreement. Two copies should be compiled and signed (this can be done digitally using a company such as EchoSign.com. This service is completely free).
For peace of mind, we further advise that airline tickets (if applicable) are purchased simultaneously, then proof of purchase swapped. Proof that your exchange partners have paid for their flights is another compelling reassurance that all is well before the exchange actually
takes place. All this advise is covered in detail in our "Hints and Advice Book" (above).
